Spider treatments are normally an external treatment and involve the application of liquid insecticide to the exterior of the premises to be treated.

The insecticide is applied under guttering and eaves, around window and door frames and around the perimeter of the house. Should the building be sheeted in weatherboards or similar each board will be treated. Normal treatment is for web building spiders on the outside of the premises. Should the home owner also wish to target red back spiders a normal spider treatment as above is carried out as well as targeting specific red back habitats such as under garden/patio furniture, rock walls etc and anywhere else the technician feels red back spiders may be present.

If red back spiders are a problem in the interior of the property it can usually be associated with them being present in the ceiling cavity. Therefore, a ceiling dust treatment would need to be carried out.
